About
Here at Banks Race Development we specialise in custom suspension set ups for your Motorcycle. Motocross, off-road, desert and adventure bike set ups are our main focus but we also offer general servicing, lowering and comfort set ups for road aswell.
Motorcycles come out with a generic suspension setting to cover a wide range of riders and abilities. Setting your suspension up specifically for your weight, discipline and riding ability can give a huge benefit to on track performance and confidence while riding/racing.
How do we know what to do?
TESTING and experience! Daniel has been involved with Motocross and off road racing for 20+ years and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to setting your bike up. Daniel spends countless hours at the track testing with his own bike and other riders to ensure the set ups offered are unbeatable. Daniel is an ex professional Motocross racer and still races at a top level in South Australia which gives our customers confidence when choosing Daniel to set their bike up.
General servicing
Servicing your suspension is as important as servicing your engine if you want the optimum performance out of your bike. We use top quality oil, seals and wear parts to perform our servicing and have a turn around time of 1-3 days depending on parts.
Re valving, springs and custom set ups
Re valving is a word that is thrown around a lot in the suspension industry and a lot of people don't understand what it means. Inside your suspension are valves with tapered shim stacks which control the dampening of your suspension. Changing the configuration of these tapered shim stacks can make a huge different to on track feeling. Springs are also a big part of ensuring your bike is well balanced depending on your riding level and weight. There is more to it than shuffling a few shims around, each set up is personalised to each rider and can be track tested to ensure the rider is happy. We warrant all our work and will keep working with the rider until he/she is happy with the set up. All set ups have a 2-5 day turn around depending on parts.
Pro component suspension
For the optimum performance and comfortability for your Motorcycle, Pro component suspension is available. The sky is the limit when it comes to pro component suspension but we have worked hard to narrow down what works best for different riding abilities, disciplines and bikes. Complete forks, shock, performance parts, valves and coatings are available for all makes and models. We specialise in WP suspension and can offer a great package whether you are racing pro motocross, state motocross, finke, hattah, or just club level.
